Hispanic Business Conference Kicks Off Today to a Sold-Out Audience
The two-day yearly event of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando features celebrity speakers, workshops, and networking sessions.
Orlando, FL -- The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando opened today its 10th annual Hispanic Business Conference at the Rosen Plaza Hotel to a packed house of more than 350 attendees representing over 100 companies. The conference seeks to educate, motivate and build business opportunities for entrepreneurs, leaders, and business professionals. It includes networking sessions, workshops, and renowned speakers in the areas of digital marketing, talent acquisition and retention, and sales. It will also offer opportunities for corporations and contractors to connect with minority-owned businesses.
This year’s conference focuses on the use of technology to help bring more Hispanic businesses into the 21 st century and improve profitability. “Finding innovative uses for technology and data is key for minority-owned businesses to rise above and be able to compete in the digital age,” Ortigoni said. “No matter the size of your company, technology has both tangible and intangible benefits that will help you make money and produce the results your customers demand.”
The conference’s opening sessions included a keynote address by leadership expert Anthony López titled ‘The Legacy Leader Unleashes the Power of Cultural Intelligence’. A posthumous tribute to Roque Gallart, president of the Central Florida Disability Chamber of Commerce, who died suddenly this week at age 49, had been delivered earlier by Ortigoni. Wednesday’s events continued with a keynote address by celebrity speaker Kevin Harrington, from the hit TV show Shark Tank, about entrepreneurial success in the digital age, and with a speech by James Smiley, disruptive marketing expert, on ‘How Small Businesses Are Using Online Technologies to Dominate’. Additionally, Thursday’s scheduled events include a Supplier Diversity Matchmaking Expo and a Legislative Update with several Florida elected officials.
