Opportunity for Public to Meet Local, Regional and State Candidates, Event Will Feature Straw Poll
ORLANDO, Fla. (July 3, 2018) - Aiming to increase Hispanic voter participation in the electoral process, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando (HCCMO) will host the 2018 Political Hob Nob on Thursday, July 26, at the Fashion Square Mall in Orlando from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The event is open and free to the public.
Attendees will have an opportunity to connect directly with local, regional and state candidates to learn more about their platforms, and how they plan to impact the Hispanic community. Now more than ever, candidates need to connect with Hispanic voters, especially with the influx of thousands of Puerto Ricans who moved to the central Florida region after Hurricane Maria.
"Hispanics in the I4 corridor are expected to be the deciding factor in many races, and those votes will shape the future policy of this region and the state,” said HCCMO President Gaby Ortigoni “The Hispanic Chamber is proud to take a lead role in providing the community and the candidates a platform to engage and dialogue about the issues that affect all of us."
Attendees will cast their vote in support of their preferred candidates and issues in a straw poll conducted by the office of the Orange County Supervisor of Elections, Bill Cowles. Results will be announced during the night of the event.
The HCCMO Political Hob Nob is one the main events of the political season in Central Florida. Held every two-years, it provides an occasion to meet and greet local, state and federal candidates and learn about their views. This Chamber event is also a favorite among candidates who are looking to connect directly with Hispanic constituents.
The audience attending: Elected Officials, Candidates for Public Office and Representatives for Policy Issues, Board of Directors and Community Leaders.
Political Hob Nob registration VIP tickets, which includes food and drinks are available for $20 for HCCMO members and $30 for non-members.
