Candidates Clarke, Demings, Panepinto, answered questions about business, economic development, Hispanic community and major issues affecting Orange County
ORLANDO, Fla. (May 4, 2018) – As the race for Orange County’s highest elected office continues, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando (HCCMO) hosted the first mayoral debate today, featuring candidates Commissioner Pete Clarke, Sheriff Jerry Demings, and Mr. Rob Panepinto.
The debate was geared to topics that are impacting the fast-growing Hispanic community and included: candidate’s plans to resolve the immediate need for affordable housing, their initiatives to help minority small business owners have more access to capital, ways to simplify the process of getting permits, licenses, and minority certifications with the county, funding of economic development organizations, the role of Orange County to help Puerto Rico with its recovering efforts after Hurricane Maria, transportation and public safety.

Ybeth Bruzual, news anchor and host of Political Connections on Spectrum News 13, was the moderator of this debate. She commended all three candidates for their interest in Hispanic issues and for their commitment to serving Orange County.
