Orlando Magic LogoThe Orlando Magic were honored with the Best Overall Matrix and Fascia Display Award at the 2014 Golden Matrix Awards at the IDEA Conference held in Dallas, Texas from July 13-16.

IDEA, the Information Display and Entertainment Association, annually recognizes superior achievement throughout the large screen video and matrix display industry by awarding its Golden Matrix Awards. The GMAs recognize artistic and technical excellence in the programming of displays located at stadiums, arenas, racetracks and other public assembly facilities.

The Magic were one of seven NBA teams and 12 overall organizations that submitted a nomination in the category of Best Overall Matrix and Fascia Display, while over 400 total nominations were submitted for the GMAs. This is the first Golden Matrix Award win for the Orlando Magic, and the organization was also a finalist in the category of Best Mascot Video.

Orlando's NBA franchise since 1989, the Magic's mission is to be world champions on and off the court, delivering legendary moments every step of the way. Orlando Magic community relations programs impact an estimated 75,000 kids each year, while a Magic staff-wide initiative provides more than 6,000 volunteer hours annually.

In addition, over the last 24 years more than $18.8 million has been distributed to local nonprofit community organizations through the Orlando Magic Youth Fund (OMYF-MFF), a McCormick Foundation Fund since 1994, which serves at-risk youth.
